First cut is the deepest. Say what?
Amar cut his first tooth around 6 months old. His second tooth appeared a few days later. Can you see the tooth trying to cut through his gum? Sarah cut her first tooth around 6 months too. 2nd, 3rd and 4th teeth came shortly afterwards. The 5th came when she was around 11 months.
Thankfully both of them had had a fairly painless experience. I read, some babies may become feverish or get diarrhoea. Mine, were alright. Alhamdulillah. Only that they drooled heavily at this stage. Seriously! I remember some older friends were passing comments that the drools was due to my cravings when pregnant with them.
The old Malay folks said, if you don't get what you were longing for when pregnant, then your child will drool a lot! Not that I believe such thing, but I did crave for ABC (Air batu campur) when pregnant with Sarah. Obviously, it was almost impossible to get in England!
And I craved for siput sedut masak lemak cili padi when pregnant with Amar. Mana nak cari siput kat England ni??? Hmmm. Not that I was mengidam teruk2. Just those two foods that came to my mind while pregnant. Now, Sarah is 2+ years old. Just look at that mouthful of choppers. She's very good at brushing her own teeth. She will remind me every morning to brush her teeth. And she will brush again whenever she is having a bath.
Sarah loves Amar so much that she used to bite him. Geram sangat kot. Now that Amar has 6 teeth as well, Sarah has somehow stopped biting him. Not too sure if it was Amar's teeth or because she has grown out of the biting thing.
