Mid Valley

I kept a list of things to do in Malaysia.

No 1: Nak makan Rojak Mamak
No. 2: Nak minum ABC
No.3: Nak makan sushi
No.4: Nak makan tahu bakar
.....more nak makan....
.
.
No. 15: Nak beli telekung baru
.
.
.

No.23: Beli souvenirs for neighbours kat UK.
and the list went on and on.

The list was full of "Nak makan... ".

After we came back from Johor, my parents took us to Alam Central (if I'm not mistaken). We bought a pair of slippers for Sarah. The ones that made squeeky (and annoying to some people) sound.

We had lunch at 'Restoren Syed'. I'm guessing it's quite famous for its beryani to Malaysian? The portion per person was like for three people. Sarah was asleep. I had the chance to eat in peace, so I finished the whole portion. Aaahhh, sungguh lazat....

Right after that, my parents and Amar went back home and we stayed on. We wanted to go to the other shopping complex right opposite of Alam Central. Thought that we could just go there by foot while Sarah was still sleeping in the stroller.

Boy, what an adventure we've had. We are used to ever so berhemah drivers in the UK. On the other hand, none of the Malaysian drivers stopped at the zebra crossing. And the curbs were way to high and inconvenient for pedestrians like us. Just imagine orang berkerusi roda nak melintas jalan???

They seriously need a better town planner!

When we reached the other shopping complex, I was already too exhausted and frustrated that we didn't quite enjoy the afternoon. Then, I saw Sarah had only one slipper left. Baru je beli!

The next day, we went to Mid Valley Megamall. Bought a couple of things and had lunch at Sushi King. When we were seated, a Malay waitress came to take our order. In UK, I was so used to asking the waiter "Do you serve Halal meat in this restaurant?" (Because if they don't we'd choose vegetarian dishes or go for seafood options)

There at Sushi King, I asked the waitress quietly "Halal ke ayam dia?" Waitress to muka pelik, and jawab sekuat-kuat hati, "kita semua ada, ayam itik daging. Semua Halal Kak"

So there you go. Kita pun bedal semua ayam itik dan daging. Posted by Picasa
