Open House

Atuk and Nanny hosted an open house on Sunday. Having stayed up until 5am again, both the kids and I were asleep when Nanny and the others were busy preparing for the day.

When my dear husband came in to the room to get dressed for the occasion that morning, I remember looking at the clock. It was around 9 in the morning and remember asking why he was getting ready so early? His shirt will get crumpled and smelly before the guests even arrive.

He didn’t say anything. He must be thinking, this wife of mine, always nag nag nag!

I promised myself to get up in 15 minutes but must have dozed off again longer than that. It was already afternoon when I woke up for the second time. When I open the bedroom door, suddenly I hear deafening sound of people talking, laughing, pots clattering, etc… How could we have slept so soundly through those loud sounds??

Then I saw my dear husband, his shirt was soaked with sweat!! I felt quite guilty for not waking up earlier. He said that people has started swarming the house since 9 in the morning!

No wonder he got ready that early!There were lots of food; Laksa penang, nasi dagang, ketupat palas, kuih-muih and some biskut raya. People kept on coming until late at night.

As for Sarah and Amar. They woke up – quite overwhelmed by the situation. Sarah was quite cranky, but she was alright when the word “CAT” was mentioned.
