Remember: Surah Al Anfal (ayat 28)

I have been very very good for the past 2 days (puji diri sendiri). As I promised, I didn't play a single sudoku puzzle and only spent a minimal time on blogging. I didn't even check if I still hold the poll position. Nevermind that. My children and family are more important.

And know that your wealth and children are a test, and that with Allah is immense reward.

Dan ketahuilah bahawa harta benda kamu dan anak-anak kamu itu hanyalah menjadi ujian, dan sesungguhnya di sisi Allah jualah pahala yang besar.

Ayat 28; Surah Al-Anfal

Shame on me! Since Babah introduced Online Sudoku (blaming on others), the children's daily routine have gone slightly haywire. Poor children. Luckily the addiction only lasted for 3 days or so, and I am putting things right again.

I don't want to set bad examples to Sarah and Amar. I hate to imagine them mengadap computer for long, long hours when there are other healthy activities that can be done as well.

The famous Supernanny (the programme on C4, and author of Supernanny book) has also given advice that children who are involved in different and lots of activities (healthy ones, of course) are much more happier kids. Letting them to watch their favourite DVDs over and over again is not healthy.

Just remind yourselves what you did when you were a kid? Main masak-masak? Main dalam hujan? Tangkap ikan rainbow dalam parit? I remember tanam pokok yang daun dia boleh dipetik and disimpan celah buku. After some time, akan keluar akar. Gosh, I can't remember the name of the daun. (Help please)

And, just remind yourselves the stories you heard from your parents when they were kids. Or your aunts, uncles and grandparents. To me, the stories sounded like they have had so much fun.

OK OK OK, I'm determined to spend even more time than before with Sarah and Amar. Hoping to help them explore and make sense of their new world. And provide care, love and attention as much as I can.

Children spell love, T-I-M-E. After all, I am a full time mother (must remember I am not a full time blogger, and not full time sudoku player) and I should have all the time to spend with them.

p/s: I am writing this while the children are napping. Is that a good start or what?

This is not so much about pretty pictures. But, I think this is their idea of fun.
I pull both of them togeher on the plastic slide (part of the bouncy castle auntie de bought for Amar) ala-ala orang zaman dulu duduk atas daun nipah / kelapa.

Daun setawar? :D

Did more during my preschool years, I think once we started school, we moved to an area which did not have a suitable playground, and hence all adventuring stopped. We did have a lot of animals around: cats, rabbits, chicken...

Turning over a new leaf, I see, :p

Dear Sarah and Amar, please remember this moment when your mum has made a big sacrifice for your sake, :p

DITH, what happened to your blogging alias?

Assalamualaikum dear friends,

At this point of time, both kids are already asleep. they slept later than usual today. And I bet you can imagine my 'itchiness' to check my comment box or do some blogging.

KKL yooossshhhh!!! Daun setawar! Thank you very much. Rasa macam nak kirim je pokok setawar from my MIL (heh heh, wink DITH)

DITH is that a cheeky smile i see? hehehe.. My pledge is to lessen my blogging hours. IF possible not to blog while the kids are awake at all. Same with Sudoku. A total no-no during the day.

I wouldn't say turning over a new leaf, but may be brushing off the habuk2 on the old leaf.

auntie de currently, i selalu chant myself with 'anak-anak adalah ujian Allah'. And selalu membayangkan when we go back to msia for good nanti, mesti i kena kerja and masa tu lah i rasa i akan miss spending masa dgn anak2. sebelum i menyesal, lebih baik i gunakan kesempatan yang ada ni sebaiknya.

daun pokok puding!! You ni buat lawak pulak. Hmmmm, i'm having doubts now. Dah lama tinggalkan kampung halaman ni. bnyk benda lupa. Tp seingat i lah, rumah kita kat muar dulu, ada pokok puding. daun dia ada colour kuning2, merah. kan? rasanya tak tumbuh akar kot. tapi honestly i tak pernah cuba. siapa kita boleh tanya ah?

ha ah lah DITH, where's your link? i noticed this dkt mynn's comment box. wondering the same question as auntie de. btw, is that another pen name? or real name? Roza, sedapnya nama. i hope you don't mind me saying bunyi mcm spanish name aje.

p/s auntie de lupa nak reply dlm comment box yg dkt tajuk 'chicken wings' tu. dah bawah sangat. malas nak scroll down. i silap pasal 'limpa' tu eh?

so limpa = hati?

bila you sebut paru, i pun rs macam sounds right as well. mungkin tu pun keluarga johor i yg berkata-kata. and lempung from my tganu side.

kdg2 sendiri confuse; org tganu ckp gulai = kari. tapi org johor; gulai = masak asam pedas.

but again, bagi org tganu, masak asam pedas is totally a different thing. so, i mmg one confused person.

Auntie De and Mama Sarah-

You see, sometimes I hijack the PC when ikelah is using it, thus as he has logged in, I just changed into another user without signing in, thus drroza,:P

Mama Sarah, indeed it is Spanish! Not proud though! But Ar Roze in Persian means fasting...(nak buat macam mana bukan nama Arab)

bagus bagus... the children will appreciate your sacrifice one day..

DITH

Arruzz or arruss means bride in Arabic.. :)

Mama Sarah

Limpa tu spleen rasanye. Limpa pun sodap jugak...

Saya rasa anda sungguh bertuah boleh spend time with kids.. I wish kat Mesia nanti boleh go part time so that I will be at home more...

i hari tu berangan angan.. nanti the kids dah gi sekolah, i nak keje half a day, the half a day being whenever the kids are at school, and balik rumah whenever the kids balik, so i can be with them at home. ah, indahnya angan2! but seriously, i think in the current society, to leave our kids without supervision just spells disaster.

Mama Sarah said...

DITH That explains it! I kelakar baca comments dlm ikelah's blog. he said, "drroza was using the pc as usual..."
And now you say, "sometimes I hijack the PC when ikelah is using it"

Macam gathering evidence pulak kan? Tak delah, tp just my sources of perasaan kelakar. sempat hijack tu!!

Kita orang kat sini pun kalau mynn ada kat rumah.. "Berebut=rebut" computer. Now dah tak sangat lah, selepas i felt i kena kurangkan my blogging time. kalau tidak, pantang nampak kerusi computer ni free sekejap, terus berlari menerkam! kdg2 sarah yang menang.

Roza = mcm bunyi Rose.

Di I rs bukannya sacrifice, tapi responsibilities.

KKL Honestly I dah confused habis which one is paru, lempung, hati, limpa. Tapilah seingat I, I makan je semua tu.

Auntie de Tu lah. I wish the same. And kdg2 I rs mcm takut nak leave them with helper once balik msia nanti. LEbih percaya tinggal dgn keluarga. tp tak naklah tinggalkan dgn my parents. kesian my parents! Banyak angan-angan ni.. one of them,

1. nak buat day care course, so that i boleh buka nursery.
2. cari helper and tinggalkan anak2 dkt my parents' house dgn helper. at least she is under supervision jugak.
3. work from home.

any other suggestions?

Simah You have beautiful cute miut kids. *cubit pipi mereka*

KKL I rs another name for daun tu ialah daun tapak itik.
