Final day in Belfast

It's our final day in Belfast. We took the opportunity of the sunny weather to sightsee the city centre. Our first stop was the City Hall, at least a century old building. Currently it houses the City Council offices.

Besides the obvious green domes, the interior of the City Hall is of marble, decorative plaster and stained glass windows.

Then we just strolled around the city centre. The shops were all similar to any other shops in other parts of UK; Debenhams, M&S, Boots, Woolworth, Topshop, WHSmith, BHS, Laura Ashley, Thorntons to name a few.

We had this classic British food for lunch.

We went in a toy & gadget shop. There were toy dogs, lions, rabbits lurking around the floor. Sarah was not amused.

Amar wanted one! He liked that black one. See the granny in the background. She was so fond of Amar!

Not long after that, we went back to Azim's house.

Suddenly, it was time to fly home. Azim, Naufal, Atuk and Nanny were kind enough to send us to Belfast City Airport. Our flight was scheduled at 20.30. Luckily, we had no problem at the check in counter.

We went to the second floor of the airport, and let the children play for a while at the play area.

Amar was so focused playing the toy above. I think he could just stood still and play for hours if I let him.

On the other hand, Sarah and Naufal were on more adventurous stuff!

Atuk and Nanny stayed back in Belfast and hopefully they will come back to our place on the 12 July 2006. Our flight was on time that night. It was a smaller aircraft. Two seats on each side. Babah and Sarah sat on the left wing. Amar on my laps on the right wing.

Amar was pretty restless on the plane that night. I think he was too tired even to sleep. Luckily it was only a short journey. It didn't end there, we still had to catch a bus from the airport to get to Coventry. And finally a taxi to reach home. By then, both kids were knackered and have fallen asleep.

All in all, we have thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Belfast. Not only it was a pleasant family gathering but also a great experience visiting the interesting places. Thank you especially to Azim's family for making our stay worthwhile and keeping our stomachs full all the time! May Allah bless your family always.
