Cookies n Cream Cheesecake

Ingredients:
50 OREO Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine, melted
4 pkg (8oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
4 eggs

Place 30 of the cookies in food processor container; cover. Process 30 to 45 seconds or until finely ground. Add butter; mix well. Press onto bottom of 13x9 inch baking pan.

Mix cream cheese, sugar and vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add eggs; mix just until blended. Chop remaining 20 cookies. Gently stir 1-1/2 cups of the chopped cookies into cream cheese batter. Pour over crust; sprinkle with remaining chopped cookies.

Bake at 180 C for 40 minutes or until center is almost set. Cool. Refrigerate 3 hours or overnight. Cut into squares.

And this is how you eat it, the Sarah way...

Anonymous said...

Drooling ...... I want!! :D

Mama Sarah said...

nnydd kita beli kat sainsbury's hari tu. satu kotak dalam gambar tu 63p kalau tak silap. we bought 4 packs!

baru ni pergi birmingham. jumpa dekat selfridges, lebih kurang sama weight, tapi harga £2.59.

Also, in my attempt to menghabiskan stok margerine, maybe boleh la try buat. Problem is I dont eat cheese. Kalau tak letak cheese apa akan jadi? Also, vanilla tu penting sgt ke?

saya budak baru belajar

Anonymous said...

alamak... i dont shop at sainsbury lah... ASDA or Somerfield got one tak?

Mama Sarah said...

ajab booboo alamak... menitik sampai sinilah!

Mama Sarah said...

nnydd for orang bujang, vanilla boleh omit.

so far yang kita tahu, oreo ada kat sainsbury's. Asda, somerfield, morrisons tak pernah check pulak.

cheese tu unfortunately the main ingredient. anta nak substitute dgn apa?

kalau setakat nak habiskan butter tu, sapu kat toast ajelah

I brought my case to the attention of Mullah Google qaddasallahu sirruhu (may Allah keep him sanctified and guard his secret intact, that is)and he knowledgably suggested 'silken tofu'. :O What the heck is that?

Problem #2 PMS, sgt jarang beli dan x baper gemar roti buku.

Give up lah cam ni.

Mama Sarah said...

silken tofu as a substitute.. oh my.. maka kuih kita namanya cookies n cream tofucake lah yea?

rasanya silken tofu ni = japanese tauhu. yang lembut tu. cuba tengok kat chinese supermarket kat corner rumah lama you tu. ada jual.

kalau tak gemar roti buku tu, maka cubalah buat buttered fried rice. ala kegemaran Uncle De kita tu. favourite food dia masa dia bujang dahulu. (Bak kata Auntie de)

I guiltily sought enlightenment from Sidi Wiki, but his sacred teaching on silken tofu is so highly academic. I am greatly bamboozled and it only serves to increase my doubt. :(

Buttered fried rice? Ajarlah PMS. I would also appreciate it if Saghah can teach us all how to eat that too! LOL!

Mama Sarah said...

nnydd now i;m having doubts. my legs selalu kena 'tarik' by you people. are you asking how to make buttered fried rice, or are you asking how to make buttered fried rice???

let me just be my own innocent self, buttered fried rice the Mama Sarah's way is : heat the butter in the pan, masukkan nasi and pecahkan telur. then add garam secukup rasa. kalau suka tambahkan sedikit pepper.

senang sahaja.

Sarah and Amar had theirs yesterday for breakfast. unfortunately, no photo to accompany.

Anonymous said...

Laa......... senang bebenar! Malu dah nak tanya lagi.

Anonymous said...

This is awesome!

I want to try to make it by myself.

ahnali said...

thank you for sharing.. hehee
definitely must try this recepi! ^o^

p/s--> all of your food pics are soo drool-able XD

Mama Sarah said...

nnydd ya amat senang. so silalah buat.

amar razali yes, yes, do try. easy peasy!

mrs fungus aka hanachan definitely must try after your exams. and let us know the outcome ok?

Mama Pongkey said...

halamak ingredient tu sumer ada, except eggs (dah habis) and oreos (lama dah tak beli)

macam nak try jek... :D

Mama Sarah said...

KKL kalau susah cari oreo, gantilah with any cookies n cream biscuits or any digestive biscuits.

for non bake cheesecake, just omit the egg and vanilla. and tak payah bake.

LAGI SENANG!

Mama Pongkey said...

:D Couldn't resist this, sorry nnydd...

Nampak gaya macam ni nnydd kenalah kahwin cepat2, salah satu fadhilatnye, boleh mintak orang rumah masakkan buttered fried rice, cakes, dan macam2 lagi yang sedap2!

I ran to the shop for eggs, but as I was about to pour the butter into the pan, mental flashes of oily fried rice stopped me short. so i changed gear, cooked beryani and rendang Pakistan, cut carrots, and finished the meal with custard, all in style.

Resting post-meal, a serious thought cropped up: perhaps I should really urge the authority to carpet-bomb London, to counter terrorism. Where exactly in London do you live KKL?

Sherin de Souza said...

Sedapnya!!!!! It is a must try.. Btw, just to let you know, Mish makes the best strawberry cheese cake! He made it for me the first time masa my birthday while we were still in UK.. Yummy betul and ours pun nampak sedap... Nak cuba!

dith said...

Nisak-

Do you need to cut it into squares when it's already presentable in the small bowls?

Perhaps I should just resolve eating it Saghah's way....satisfaction guaranteed, I'm sure.

Nydd-

Carpet-bomb eh? Are you targeting KKL or asking her to leave the place before you bomb? hehe

Anonymous said...

i'm gonna keep this recipe & try it when i'm not on a diet (unless I wanna burst the seams of my own pants) or when hubby's sugar level goes back to normal ( a case of bday cake overdose!)

Anonymous said...

mama sarah, comelnye sarah makan mcm tu. how do u eat it the amar way?

and how do u post 2 pictures next to each other? ke blogger je boleh wordpress tak boleh? i know nothing about html.

Mama Sarah said...

KKL haiyooo why suddenly my cheesecake taste so pedas???

nnydd my poor brother, somehow i think beryani dan rendang lagilah fattening. and as for the buttered fried rice, tak payahlah tuang satu tub margarine. you r so in need of a wife lah brother. otherwise, go find housemates like allahyarham norman. he was the one who introduced cheesecake to us.

sherin i can assure you, any other person would make better dishes than me. Mine is more towards aesthetic importance than taste. so do i get the sifu's strawberry cheesecake recipe?

Mama Sarah said...

DITH the recipe said cut into squares. I guess, that's the proper way nak bagi nampak the beautiful layers. Unfortunately, I only made quarter of the measurements. And the quantity didn't fit my removable side baking pan (photo #3). I didn't have chef's metal rings either. The best I could do was to use small ramekins. Probably, someone might want to get me those chef metal rings for my birthday presents kan? Plus a blow torch.

anne go buy the low fat cheese and only use half of the sugar. go on!!! no more excuses now!

naja amar main celup and spread it on the carpet!
2 pix next to each other: wordpress boleh buat rasanyalah. choose alignment left or right for each photo. selagi photo tu muat dalam main column tu, dia boleh lah nak stay next to each other. otherwise, dia akan TERke bawah automatically.

Kalau nak mudah, pindah je blogspot. Lagi friendly.

ilsa said...

Ooh. That does look nice :) A good idea to put them in ramekins (at least, that's what I think those lil dishes are called) instead of a big baking pan.. senang nak makan ;) but does it affect your heat n baking time? pakai sama suhu ngan masa je boleh ek?

Sherin de Souza said...

mama sarah, yours is yummy and would taste different from his. I like to try yours.. mmmmm.. you know, mish is very secretive when it comes to recipes.. He also makes a yummy chicken cordon blue (did i get thhe speeling right?) and beef rendang! Even I pun dia tak kasi, nak pass down to our kids katanya. I don't mind, it means he has to cook la kalau i nak makan. Haahahaha

Mama Sarah said...

ilsa sama je suhu, but check from 25 mins.

sherin lucky you! hari raya nanti, you buat2lah mengidam nak makan rendang. tengoklah siapa berpeluh nanti?

Ajzie said...

MamaSarah..
Banyak nya saya terlepas N3 awak? Rasa mcm selalu singgah..hari nih saya buka tgk lebih 2 N3 saya terlepas. Takper2 saya akan baca semua..

Nampak sedap..boleh cuba nih. Ajzie selalu buat chessecake biasa aje.. Tp kan sini tak de jual oreo lah.. emmmmmm

Mama Sarah said...

ajzie ada resepi non-bake cheesecake yang simple tak? boleh share.

PMS: actually i was thinking, alang2 oily, baik oily habis. LOL! Actually i did not cook it. My Pakistani fren invited me...

DITH: actually i wanted to send carpet to KKL. the way things are, PMS and you are very close to be in my terrorist-to-be-sent-carpet too.

Mama Sarah said...

nnydd i have just published another entry when i saw your comment.

alamak kawan, "terrorist" and "bomb" are not funny words you know.

as well as "getting married" are not funny words too. Lagipun Nabi tak suka akan perkara yang sia-sia.

I was serious. Yang penting, perlu war-war apabila tiba waktunya ok?

Anonymous said...

OK PMS, I apologise... But should the question is raised again, I will definitely send a carpet... :P

Mama Sarah said...

Hehe, but now you call me PMS. Somehow I feel like a 50 yr old woman having a mid life crisis. biarpun PMS does not necessarily mean that in medical term. but still...

Ni mynn lah yg start ni. I wonder what he feels when people call him BS???

Mama Sarah, I went to Tesco just now, ingat nak buat Tiramisu (like the one in your recipe dulu), sampai dekat aisle cheese, cari punya cari... jumpa jugak mascarpone cheese.. mak datuk K ! tau tak harga dia RM18 seketul!!! double cream pun tak ade.. tak jadi la buat kesimpulannya...

Mama Sarah

Parle G biscuits boleh tak? Or Coco Pops?

Nnydd

Hehehehe. What I wanted to say was carpets (of the furry kind, Persian or Turkish please) would be very much welcome indeed. Oftimes the 'soft' approach is better than force, don't you agree? :D

Teasing aside, I was definitely serious too. Just that I have seen a LOT of things I would rather not mention here and I would be definitely happy to see people get together as pronto as possible. But man proposes, and God disposes. :D

Dyanna

Jangan bli cream tu if you find it, according to my friend tak sedap.

di hang ni kelakarlah Di! Melatah sampai terkeluar nama Dato K. Awat tak kasi panjang sikit sampai keluar nama honda City jugak? MElampaulah RM18. Tapi mungkin sebab bukan makanan imported kot? OR mungkin bukan makanan ruji Msia? Tp sebenarnya Di, tak berapa nak surprised, 1litre susu pun dah RM4 lebih. inikan pula satu tub kecil mascarpone cheese? OOOOOOhhhh... bagaimana nak duduk msia ni? AKu Puasa tiap2 hari.

zakiah hang mai sini lah. tiramisu kami sediakan.

budak gemOk apa kasi nama diri sendiri budak gemOk ni? PAstu main sindir kita ni kurus kedeking. isykh... nak kena ni!

aiichan mesti keluar air liur basi ni... eiiiiiii!!!

unknown awat tak jadi post comment ni sedara?

KKL First time dengar pasal PArle G lah! SO kena google sikit. Ada a few selections of Parle G. Cari yang closest to cookies n cream. Coco Pops hmmmm, i'm imagining the texture. Mungkin boleh, tapi you might need the whole box to make the base!

dyanna said...

Tak apa MS, jgn lah risau sangat. Orang Malaysia jarang yang kebuluran. Just change eating habits.. instead of eating Western dishes...sekarang makan nasi dan budu.. Seafood pun sedap jugak. Lagi2 kat Penang ni... jom lah.
