The sky, as seen from our backyard

May be I was not so imaginative when I was younger. Whenever I drew a picture, the sky was always coloured in light blue. Something like the photo above. Be it rain or shine, the background would always be of an azure shade.

To be exact, the photo above was taken from our backyard. We have stayed in Coventry for 3 years and I rarely bothered about the sky. Until this Summer, I noticed the vibrant blue sky and started to appreciate the beauty.

We lifted Amar and Sarah as high as possible, and took their photos from down below just to get the effect that they were surrounded by the pretty clouds. It was difficult! The kids didn't sit still. They didn't want to look at the camera. Amar drooled heavily, and Sarah was busy waving at the jet that passed by. And our camera... It took its own sweet time to charge up for the next snap. But actually, it was fun.

We were so relaxed playing with the kids that morning as if we didn't know Auntie De and family were coming. When they arrived, the house was semi upside down. Sarah has just spilled a glass of orange juice in the kitchen. And Amar also spilled half a bottle of bubbles liquid also on the floor. Lunch was half way done and Babah was tidying up Sarah's craft work in the living room.

Can you imagine the chaos in our house at that time?













Sarah was happy to see Auntie De's family, especially Safiya. But Safiya was not really in the 'mood' to play with Kakak Sarah. So Sarah went to pick on Emyr.

The chef on duty was so unorganized that day. She was quite panic stricken so she decided to serve Teh Ais with Chocolate Cake as a light snack. Then, she became guilty when Auntie De said she saw "Mama Sarah's Tauhu Sumbat" photo on our blog. Luckily there was one more bean curd left in the fridge. The chef fried the tauhu and they got to share that one last tauhu between three people!

For lunch, the chef attempted to prepare Soto. The last few stages were to fry the pergedil and to finely shred the cooked chicken breast. As if the chef has not had enough disasters that day, the pergedil decided to split in the hot oil. Probably it was best for the chef to stick to her own recipe rather than trying something new from the Pandai Memasak outdated cookbook. Luckily Auntie De reminded the chef about this Cook's trade secret to use only egg white as the coating.

For dessert, Babah specifically requested the chef to make Tiramisu with toasted Almonds.

It was nice to have Auntie De and family here. We have to make sure they sleepover the next visit so that we could go and visit either Warwick or Kenilworth Castle. Or at least have a picnic at Memorial War Park.

When they left, we saw Marium, our next door neighbour. She was riding her pink bicycle. Sarah was tempted to have a go. So I invited her to play at our backyard. I was impressed with Sarah, she was able to push the pedals herself. Hmmm, does that mean we have to buy her a bicycle?

Marium was more interested to play with Amar. She wanted to carry Amar but he refused to be picked up. Marium went home at 8pm when it was Sarah and Amar's bedtime.
