Muffins

Last weekend, Sarah and I were quite busy in the kitchen. Sarah could do with some useful activities other than watching tv and dvd 24-7, so I suggested baking! We almost abandoned the plans when we found out there was just not enough ingredients to every recipe we chose. Until we saw this Chocolate Chips Muffins Recipe. Still, there wasn't any chocolate chips and yoghurt in the larder. We had to improvise.

I have always wanted a digital weighing scale. Babah has kindly bought an "Anthony Worral Thompson" one just to add up to my personal collection of his product. So that day, I proudly used it for the first time.

Sarah did all the mixing and whisking. She didn't let me touch the mixture as much as I didn't let her touch my brand new weighing scale.

Do you remember when I said in my previous post that Sarah just hates her photograph to be taken? But, she generously posed whenever she is baking. This is because the very first time I let her used the electric mixer, I had to bargain her with a smile for the camera. Since then, she automatically smiles when she is baking in the kitchen.

Just look at her, she insisted to pour the fresh milk and egg into the flour, butter and sugar mixture herself!

Little Amar wanted to help too. We could see he was very curious.

He tried to help, but Kakak didn't let him near the bowl! She said, "nanti tumpah nanti!"

This is the improvised bit, we didn't have any chocolate chips. So we grated the required amount of chocolate bars that we have in the cupboard.

That was the final stage before scooping into muffin baking tray.

I must remember to fill up 3/4 of the tray only next time. Just to give enough room for the muffins to rise nicely.

So here is the results. Overgrown muffins made by Sarah and her mama.

The verdict was simply fantastic simple recipe for any 3 year old child! (And, remember not to let Sarah lick the uncooked mixture!) We had a fun day making the muffins, we couldn't wait for our next baking project together.

Dear nisak,

I must say I am impressed! Sarah has truly grown in her baking since the first time she baked (I still remember that entry)

I love that pic of hers with the sweeeet smile and sexy bare shoulder. Reminds me of the voluptuous Nigella! hehe

I can just 'smell' the aroma of your freshly baked muffins. There's nothing like hot, moist, delicious, freshly-baked muffins served with tea on a cold winter afternoon.

Sedaaaap nya!!!!

4. Kak Elle Boleeehhh. Sedap atau tak sedap, belakang kira ok?

5. DITH Oh dear, someone noticed! I kept on betulkan her baju, but that photo (with the londeh sleeve) was the best out of the bunch.

6. Pycno Now you make me want to drink tea pulak!

7. Noor Ruzilawati Buat masa ni, Amar tolong 'kemas' aje. Dia paling suka kemas senduk-senduk :)

8. Di It's not too high tech that the kids couldn't touch. Just sayang sebab barang baru. hehe!

The weighing scale is so friendly! just one touch button and it gives precise measurements! I like!

9. IbuAmin Yeayyy, nanti boleh buat the Am(m)ar club.

muffins are the best when they are in imperfect shapes, so the more bantat senget or benget, the better!

Oh must you post the delicious looking pics, ms! Camne nak diet camni??

11. Zakiah Syok 'main' masak2. Sarah lagi suka buat cookies, sebab boleh gelek-gelek and guna cookie cutter. Tapi siaplah kena mengemas lepas tu.

12. D We'll bring our own biscuits lah macam ni :) How to go? Don't even know where to start!?

13. DD The price, tak ingat babah beli berapa harga hari tu. But I checked again on the internet, ranging between £17 - £25. It's a petite size scale weighing up to 5kg item only. Tp very easy to use.

I think ebay would surely have a lower starting bid price, if you are interested.

14. Kak Long Kelas memasak? hehe... tengoklah macamana dia besar nanti. Kot2 dah minat benda lain pulak masa tu.

15. Nani Nak merasa? Muffin yang kami buat, biasa saje rasanya. Tak lah significant sangat kesedapannya. Setakat aktiviti untuk si Sarah yang cepat boring di rumah ni.

16. Anne I'm glad you said so. I was quite frustrated they grew so large and senget. Only one came out quite perfect. Dahlah buat 6 aje. Nak tak nak, terpaksa gak tunjuk the imperfections.

rajinnya Sarah ke dapur, boleh buat menantu ni...hehe

18. yus hehehe... kelakarlah yus ni!

19. D After enlarging to see the set of twins and a princess, I saw 131. So is that old or new? or totally incorrect? You're killing me lah D! Is it still Ch Av?

It is a bright day today kan? When are you normally free? I'll try to invite you for dinner one of these days. Ok ke?

I am so ashamed of myself. Here, we have a three year old baking muffins (and cakes, if I remember correctly) while the only thing I can bake is toast - and that doesn't even count!

Kudos to you Puan Mama Sarah for raising such a healthy child.

21. Simah Yesterday, I bought Anthony's oven glove and apron pulak. Sounds like a fanatic already eh?

22. Farah Lemonade is sooo British! I mean soooo Enid Blyton.

23. Zino Kat sana ada cheff?

24. Pinkyjumbo Thanks for reading :) I'll try to visit yours soon. Tungguuuuu...

25. Shami Rajinnya Mimi di dapur. Sarah memang suka tolong buat cake. Dan suka juga menolong. Tapi kalau disuruh tu kadang2 dia boleh jadi 'liat' sikit. Tengok mood.

26. K.D. Nice to see you here. It's nice that both my husband and I are able to spend some quality time with our children. I'm definitely going to miss being a SAHM bila balik Msia nanti, (of course unless I decide not to work. which is unlikely)

27. Hiyoshi I don't deserve such recognition. But thanks anyway :) Flattered.

I didn't expect to get such excellent results that day. Must be 'air tangan' Sarah.
