Baking Virus!
Sarah and Kakak Princess. Photo edited by Babah.
I must be barking mad! Despite several failure attempts at baking, I still had the nerve to bake "Pretty Pink Iced Cupcakes". Recipe found in Your Home Magazine (March 2007), Babah has just bought for me.
One thing for sure, it would definitely make Sarah happy if I make them with her. She has requested several time to do some baking. Pink cake! That's what she wanted. So this recipe would be perfect.
Coincidentally, D said that she was thinking of baking herself. Her children are on school holiday so it would be nice if we could all just get together again and bake together. I was sure I'd get a baking tip or two from the expert.
D arrived with her children around 1.30pm yesterday. They brought along some snacks and ice-cream AND also a gift for me.
*Flattered*
I remember going to this particular shop and drooled on the baking ware. Thinking when would I ever own an item from their line? Thanks to D, I'm now a proud owner of a non stick silicone baking pan.
Soon the mission began. Almost everyone was in the kitchen trying to help the mums. I took out the ingredients and utensils needed. And let the expert (D) do the measuring and mixing. While I took some photos.*Flattered*

Before long, Sarah and little D has started on flour fight, senduk fight and sieve fight!
On the other hand, Amar and D's twins bonded well together, sharing the same sofa watching a DVD peacefully in the living room.
According to D, little D has done these sort of activities in the nursery. If only Sarah knew!!!
The above photo was the first batch of our cupcakes. Since there were also boys in the house, we've decided to make three different colours for the icing. Pink, green and white. Expect some messiness dealing with the icing. It was purely fun decorating the mini cakes, although I kept on chanting that I am not going to do this ever again!

This is the finished products, that took us the whole afternoon to complete!!!
So they say "practice makes perfect". I think I'm not going to give up just yet. With the new baking tray from D, I am looking forward to try some other cupcakes recipes. (D, care to join again???)
At the end of the session, we all sat down and had the cupcakes, banana and cashew cake (also freshly baked the same day) with little D's favourite teh-tarik.
My only concern was the icing was very sweet! Obviously it was made purely with icing sugar. But the cakes were very tasty. Must have been the precise measurements and perfect technique of whisking by D!
