Sarah, Semut and Her Imagination

Sarah's imagination is increasing by day. The usual routine before bedtime is to have a quick bath, get dressed, prepare the kids' milk and off to bed. When I was preparing their milk this evening, Sarah as usual was on her red plastic chair. Keeping an eye on what I was doing.

She saw a semut crawling nearby and shouted, "Mama, (S)emut! (S)emut!"

Semut is one of her favourite creatures. When she was younger, she could watch a semut for hours! (a little bit of exaggeration)

"Mama, emut! emut!" Said Sarah excitedly.

"Oh! Wow, Semut ya?" I replied and continued my work.

"Semut (j)angan gigit Wawa OK? Wawa good girl ni" Oh my! She was talking to the semut.

Then she was quiet for some time. I guess she was doing her semut watch.

When everything was ready, I started to make my way to the bedroom. Sarah was still watching the semut. I stopped at the kitchen door and called her.

"Sarah, jomlah naik. Adik nak tidur dah ni" I said to her.

"OK" She said obediently, but still didn't move.

"Jomlah. Mama banyak kerja ni." A bit forceful. (Padahal bz nak baca blog orang je, astaghfirullah...)

I was still standing at the kitchen door waiting for her.... patiently...

"Sarah" I called her again.

"OK Semut, Wawa (ti)dor ni, babai (s)emut..." And she waved at the semut.

She jumped off her red plastic chair. And walked towards me. But stopped after 2 paces. Turned around, and said;

"Akum (s)emut"

I don't know why, but I am so proud of her!!

3. A friend and her family came to our house around this time last year and saw a semut. The wife was so excited and said to the husband. "Bang, tengok ni semut!" I asked why the excitement? She said her husband promised to give her £10 if he sees a semut in the U.K.

I'm wondering if she has received her £10 yet??? (*wink* Mama Danial aka Tom the Choo Choo Train)
