Safiya's Birthday
Also during Hari Raya Haji recently, Auntie De enthusiastically baked a special cake for her dearest daughter, Safiya who turned 1 on 20 December 2006. Sarah has represented her Mama to help Auntie De in the kitchen. She was very good at asking lots of questions and giving her hands at anything Auntie De has assigned her to do.
Sarah obediently stood on the stool next to Auntie De, waiting for further instructions. While Safiya, normal for toddlers her age, was busy tidying up the bottles and keeping herself close to her Mama.

After baking the chocolate cake, Auntie De cut it in half right in the middle and spread a layer of strawberry coloured filling with real cherries.
Then Auntie De spread chocolate icing all over the cake and decorated with colourful and creative writing. All specially dedicated to little Safiya of course.
The final stage was to decorate the sides of the cake with even more colourful and flowery decorations!
The final product of the cake was definitely a beautiful home made cake, elaborately decorated fit for one year old Princess Safiya.
Here is the pretty Princess. At one, she is already walking and very friendly. Her baby talk is so cute! We wish her many happy years ahead of her.
Because Sarah was so good that day, Auntie De let her have a piece of cake. Sarah was free to decorate her own piece. She was extremely happy for that, that I made a silent promise to make an effort to do lots more baking with Sarah in the future.

Wahhh seronok lah Sarah. Alya belum ada chance nak buat mcm tuh. Adik Alya suka kepoh2 lah. Tp Alya dah pandai tulis nama ALYA di paper. dinding, lantai dll. Adoiii. MamaAlya mmg kena berbyk bersabar.
yes, children love baking and cooking. my boys are champions are roti jala (though it sometimes turn out like roti split splot).
ps: once you're done scrubbing, come over and scrub our house too, ok??

That icing in the tube looks exactly like Aliah's glittering painting item. I've yet to see them being used here. Or maybe I am the one behind time!

Kreatif Sarah....n rajin nak tolong didapur...mesti ikut mama dia ni...
1. Azie conteng dinding + carpet yang paling saya takut sekali. Kita ni kan duduk menyewa. Dok pesan kat Sarah suruh tulis atas kertas aje. Sampai Sarah pun dah pandai 'berleter' kat Amar, "tulis atas kertaaaasss je tau!".
2. D no chance at scrubbing yet. Too cold, wet and of course LAZY still.

10. DITH Sarah has the glitters in tubes too. She is playing with them at the moment. While Amar tries to curi one whenever he can.
As for the easy icing in tubes, they are very easy to use. I might be getting some of them soon, just for Sarah. (If she behaves well this week)
