2nd invitation!

Where do I begin? Probably I should start with how I was NOT looking forward to the initially thought another boring weekend. Our car was due for a proper check up on Saturday morning. Babah solemnly suggested to take the children to a nearby retail park by 'foot'! Or to the town centre by bus.

When Babah was at the service centre, D rang up and invited us for dinner. It was only last Monday when we had tea at her home, and now she has invited us for dinner!

Excluding the events that happened between the phone call and the actual dinner, we arrived at D's house around 7pm. We didn't realise that it was actually an exclusive invitation. We felt so special!

It was obvious that Sarah was so happy. There were so many toys for them to play with.

Amar... our dear Amar, he has kept us all agitated and breathless that night! Amar tried to touch every single item on display. All our sentences ended with "Amaaar, No!" Plus, Babah had to make several leaps, dives and rescue missions before Amar break D's possessions.

In return, he gave us his cheeky and non-guilty look.

D has again went to MEGA lengths preparing all the delicious dishes. We had a good time digging in the food. D made 'nasi hujan panas', to me only experts could make them properly. Amateurs and those who lack patience (like me) would end up making nasi ribut taufan (wink*wink Hila!)

Look at this fusion roast chicken. A special blend of East and West recipe that I never get around to ask D properly.

There was also king prawns masak merah. The colour, the taste and the look was simply perfect reminded me of a dish by a seasoned cook.


Some salads and every kid's favourite, crunchy poppadums.

Not to forget, rojak where D made the sauce from scratch and hand pounded the nuts herself. It was truly scrumptious!

And there were more! Titillating tastebuds tiramisu and specially brewed tea. D's tiramisu was by far better than mine. Hers was very nicely decorated and I'm sure was made with more or less the same ingredients as mine but somehow hers tasted light, indulging and one serving was definitely not enough!

We were so glad that we accepted D's invitation. Our children had so much fun (sorry about the mess D!) and thank you for the food you've packed for us to take home.

Now I'm itching to invite D for another dinner date at our place. But I'm running out of idea (and skill) of what to cook. Any idea, anyone?
